Alignments Dialog

Opens when Alignments is selected in the Roadway elements group.

Add Alignment To create a new alignment, press the folder icon. When the edit box appears in the alignment list accept the default member group name or enter a new member group name then hit the Enter key.
Delete Alignment Delete an alignment by highlighting the desired alignment in the list. Then click on the red x (delete button) located at the top of the dialogue.
Add Segment Add a new segment by selecting the add segment button located at the top left corner of the window. The segment can then be modified by either leaving it on its default setting of tangent or changing it to curve.
Delete Segment Delete a segment by selecting the delete segment button located at the top of the alignments dialog box.
Beginning Station The text box labeled beginning station, located at the top of the window is used to define the beginning station of the bridge alignment.
Alignment Tie LEAP Bridge Steel can save plan view data to CAD formats. Users can choose to tie saved data to the state plane coordinates by identifying a location along the alignment, and specifying an appropriate coordinate value by clicking the Coordinate Tie button to open the Coordinate Tie dialog box.
Save DGN

The following button will save the Alignment(s) 2D model directly and accurately to Microstation DGN file format, including layers. Save the DGN file in the desired location and once the export is successful you can browse to file location and open/view in Microstation.

Coordinate Tie Clicking the button labeled coordinate tie that is located on the top right of the alignments dialog box will result in a small window to open. Here, the user can enter the northing and easting coordinates. Pressing the OK button will close the window saving the changes, whereas pressing the Cancel button will close the window without saving any changes.
Segment This non-editable field displays the segment number of the alignment.
Shape Select whether the segment is a tangent or a curve from the drop down list. Defines the shape of the alignment by allowing the user to choose between a tangent alignment or a curve alignment.
Start Direction Enter the start direction of the segment.
Radius Enter the radius for a curve segment.
End Station Enter the ending station of the segment.
Spiral in Enter the spiral-in for a curve segment.
Spiral out Enter the spiral-out for a curve segment.
Sense Select the curve sense (Left or Right) from the drop-down list.
OK Press this button to accept the definition and exit the dialog.
Cancel Press this button to exit the dialog without saving changes.
